DROWNING FOR YOUR GODS

 SEAX WICA BROUGHT ME TO THIS PLACE


My project had started to manifest pre to starting the MA in Fine Art even my BA in Art has links which was video voce dissertation was based on sacred symbolism on the Welsh borders


I have been working on a photo shoot project with different individuals portraying the Saxon gods and goddess's in a contemporary setting looking at subject areas which include gender,race,belief,identity,sexuality and intolerance

Each individual taking the role of a different deity , so far i have shot 3 individuals 

Jason Doghouse as Tiw god of sacrifice and tribe

Hannah the Spanner as Freo a nature and sexuality goddess       

My next shoots involve Adeola as Woden , he who hung for 9 days to receive the wisdom of the Futhorc runes  

Little Jo as Eostre , a rebirth , fertility goddess

Liz Little Viking as Frigg weaving the web of wyrd 

And Gareth a sacrificial offering to the gods! 

Thee end result 8 images manipulated via prints in the form of drawing and etching onto the images , the goal to show under the title DROWNING FOR YOUR GODS  in a photo/print exhibition format

I include my first working rough draft scrap book pages and images from the first 3 shoots 










Finally i hear you ask but there is 8 ? who is the 8th ? its a special guest " I hear a thundering "
